Installation Steps

Step 1

Prepare your device by placing it on a soft, lint-free surface. Ensure that your device is powered OFF. Unpack your Mobile Outfitters package, ensuring that your squeegee, spray bottle, and film are readily accessible.

Step 2

Spray your fingers with the installation solution. Your fingers should always be wet when handling our film.

Step 3

Carefully remove 1 piece of the film. We recommend starting with the screen or back cover.

Step 4

Using the installation solution, spray the sticky side of the film so that it is completely wet. Carefully place the film on your device, going edge-to-edge when laying it down, and slide it into place. We recommend using any cut-outs and edges as a guide for placement.

Step 5

Keeping the film ready with one hand, lightly squeegee from the center outwards to remove excess solution and air. Do not squeegee towards openings such as the microphone or speaker. If fluid does get into these areas, blot the fluid out with a Q-Tip or towel. Using your towel, lightly pat around the edges to remove any solution that was not squeegeed out.

Step 6

Wet the tip of your squeegee using the installation solution, then squeegee the film again, applying slightly more pressure this time. Gently wipe away excess fluid.

Step 7

Let that piece sit for a few minutes to bond to your device before moving on to the next piece. Repeat steps 2-6 until all of the film pieces are installed.

Step 8

Let your device sit for 1 hour with the device powered OFF. It is normal during this time to see corners or edges lift up. Simply push them back down and hold them for 15 seconds with moderate pressure using your thumb or pal. After an hour, you can use your device normally.

Finish

Once all the pieces are applied, you can lightly dry the unit and lightly polish it with your towel. Do not exert too much pressure on the film for 1 hous – until that time, the adhesive is still curing, and it is possible to have a piece come off. After 1 hour, you can treat the phone however you wish – it will be nearly impossible to accidentally remove any film pieces.

Pro Tips

Try not to get any moisture near openings on the device, such as speaker holes and microphones. If the solution does get into these areas, blot it off with a towel. Sometimes, there are edges and curves on the device that the film will not stick to when wet. If this happens, apply the film to the flat areas, squeegee, and then wait for the edges to dry (5-10 minutes). Then, push down the edges – they will stick better.

In Step #7, to speed up the process, apply heat to the film using a blow dryer. Only 1 minute should be needed with a blow dryer, but be careful! Blow dryers can make your device very hot and risk damage.

Troubleshooting

Problem: There is still some moisture under the film after I’ve applied i
Solution: Moisture should dissipate after 2-3 days. If it does not, you can also use a blow dryer to help remove it.

Problem: My edges aren’t staying down – the adhesive isn’t sticking to the phone in curvy areas.
Solution: Set the phone aside for 5-10 minutes, letting the film dry a bit, and then try pushing the edges down again, or use a blow dryer to dry and soften the material.

Problem: I ran out of solution in the spray bottle!
Solution: Refill the spray bottle with water and continue using it as directed. If you find the solution is not slippery enough, add one drop of baby shampoo to the spray bottle, shake, and try again.
